soooo i'm finally posting my crochet hook book. (it was done sometime in late november...) i made 3 to match the knitting needle rolls i made (check out the knitting needle/crochet hook roll along if interested) but wrapped them up for xmas before i remembered to take pics. doh! this one however i made for a friend an hr and a half away so i didn't end up wrapping it with all the other family gifts. anywho, this is my own design. i just measured the height of the hooks basically, doubled it, and added an inch or so and then for the smaller hooks, made a .5 inch pocket and the larger ones a 1 inch pocket. the only problem is it doesn't fit sizes m, n or p. i think it just barely fits l. i didn't realize as the sizes got larger, the hooks got taller. so thats something i'd change for my next one. and without ANY further ado...

the whole thing

close-up of the fabric- i loved the fabric so much i bought a couple yards to make a skirt! Smiley

Great Job!!!  Do you have a tut for that? I'm learning to sew and need easy projects and I tend to take on too much and then become discouraged.

thanx everyone! i can write up a tute, if you don't mind that it won't have pictures, just dimensions and instructions. and also, i have no idea what the fabric is called but i emailed the fabric store where i got it from and if they know, i'll letcha know Smiley btw, i got the fabric from fields fabrics. they have a website fieldsfabrics.com and they have a flat rate fee of $6 for s&h. plus a huge selection! their online store doesn't offer near as much as the actual one though Sad but it still is awesome!

ok so i kinda have a tute but not w/ pictures and not entirely a very good tute...but here goes off the top of my head...(btw, sorry it took so long, i signed up for 5 swaps at the same time and was trying to get those done!) ok so for big hooks i did a 1 inch pocket, for small hooks i did a half inch pocket. on one side i did 6-1 in pockets and a 1 and a half inch pocket on one side and on the other i did 7-half inch pockets and 4 one inch pockets. so you cut 2 pieces of fabric one for the inside and one for the outside 14 1/2 in. long by 8 1/2 inches. you also cut a piece of fusible felt pellon the same size. then measure out fabric that when folded in half will still show the sizes of your hooks. i'd say maybe 8 by 8 1/2. not really sure since its been so long. so cut two of those for the pockets, fold in half and press wrong sides together. then take your inside fabric and the pockets and sew right sides together as close to the edge as possible. mark your lines and then sew those. then take your pellon and fuse it to the outside fabric on the wrong side. sew the inner and outter fabric together w/ right sides facing, be sure to leave about a 3 in space for turning. cut edges and corners and then turn. sew the opening closed by hand, or you can just seal it closed when you topstitch around the entire thing. sew on a snap and wah lah! if you have questions, let me know.

no prob, bob. oh and if you can do this pattern, you can basically adjust it to make ur own book. i just made one the other day that was only 4 in. across and had 2 pockets on one side and one on the other. i'll post later when i get pics.
