I think I've driven myself a bit mad trying to perfect this little hoodie.  Here's the thread on my first one: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=222047.msg2395056#msg2395056

Every version I've made has something that is just not quite right.  So I'm putting the whole thing on hold until next year, since my kid has enough hooded clothing to last her until, well, next year.

Anyway, the saga:

The next gen:

The ribbing front I love, but it turned out a bit big.  The colours here hurt my eyes, but the kid just loves the pink.  She's wearing a shirt underneath that is sort of tucked up under the sleeves and it makes the puffs look odd.  They are not odd, I assure you.

So, attempt at making the front more decent so the monkey won't need to wear a shirt under that makes puff sleeves look odd:

This one is not knit material.  (and it matches my tv cozy! http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=205237.0)

Vintage buttons, though.  This is definitely my favorite.

(yes, my child is weird.  It's part of her charm.)

But then, I don't know why, I decided to tweak the sizing again, and make it out of recycled sweaters.  And then my serger went crazy, and I didn't do all the cute little shirring and ribbon embellishments that I wanted to do.  And the size is, like the problem with the very first one, too big.

And again, has to wear a shirt underneath.  Oh, and apparently has some sort of dotty stain that I didn't notice until I saw the pics.  Urgh, I hate this.

oh, but I have plans to fix the whole thing up so it it looks just like I imagine it should.  Next year.

And that is your full tour of the pattern that I just couldn't make work (and some the colours of my walls in my house too  Wink)

The tops are cute, but your daughter looks like one little character!  I hope you are cropping those photos into an album soon.  They are wonderful!

What about putting buttoned tabs on the longer ribbing part?  I think they are all adorable, and if they were maybe seamed up a little, or had the buttoned tabs like the second one, it might help with the "no shirt underneath" needed.

Wow, you made your cuteness the same way I did mine!

Hilarious picture (you know which one I am talking about:)). I can't stop laughing. Great shirts too, but she definitely shows the clothes up!
