Hi all:

I just finished knitting a lace/silk scarf of my own design!

The scarf is called Shazam! due to the zigzag pattern.  It is knitted in Handmaiden Silken (one skein - DK weight lovely lovely silk) and contains 1250 beads (6/0 size - by http://www.earthfaire.com).

I enjoyed working with beads, although it can be a tad finicky.  The pattern requires that they all be strung on prior to knitting.

The scarf is approx 40" long by 5.5" wide and took me approximately 8 hours knitting time and 1 1/2 hours time stringing the beads.

For more information, photos and the pattern itself, please feel free to hop on over to my blog: http://brouhahaknits.blogspot.com/2008/01/shazam-free-pattern.html.

Cheers and happy knitting to all!

Kristina

That is gorgeous! I always tell myself I have more than enough scarves, but I definitely see myself knitting this sometime soon.

How lovely! Thank you for sharing the pattern. I've never worked with beads, but after seeing this scarf, I may just have to start.

I just started my first bead project myself; I'm just adding them as embellishments to the cuffs of a pair of mittens, but I definitely want to try something more bead heavy soon. An interesting tidbit: I have a Shazam! debit card.

Thank you all for your kind responses!

A Shazam debit card?!  That rocks.

Wondering - if anyone does knit this, perhaps you could drop me a line at BespokeByBrouhaha@gmail.com if you post pics?

Thanks again!

Cheers,

Kristina
