Hi dear craftsters! Smiley

I'd like to share with you what I just finished: McCall's 4607 Fedora Hat. It said to use woolen fabrics, I used syntethic felt as it was the closest thing I had to wool:

(sorry for the bad quality... my camera doesn't like artificial lightning)

The lining is a yellow cotton fabric. I didn't take any photos of the inside because it's not finished - I don't have gosgrain ribbon at the moment. Oh and I'd like to emphasize that it's my first time sewing a foreign pattern (I'm brazilian) Smiley

Now I just need to decide which trimming I'd like to make for it from Eugenia Kim's book:

These are all the trimmings she suggests for fedoras.

And I love this feather butterfly on this cloche... altough I'm sure it won't be easy for me to find feathers.

Thanks! I am a hat fetishist too Cheesy

I found it simpler than I thought it would be. I could easily follow the intructions even tough I'm not a native english/spanish speaker. I made size M (I'm a 22"/M) and it fits me perfectly.

This is so hot!  I love it.  I wonder how the felt is going to hold up since it is the synthetic stuff.  Looks great though. Smiley

At Micheals they have butterflies similar to the one on the hat in the last picture. It would be easier than finding the feathers. Just thought i'd let you know Smiley

I love your hat! My daughter is so into hats and just recently lost one that we bought at Hot Topic. I am going out to get this pattern this week! Thanks!

Hi Smiley

I bought mine from this website:

http://www.sewingpatterns.com/

They have a lot of McCall's, Simplicity, Vogue, Botterick and other patterns available to buy online and print at home.
I was a little worried that the "printed at home" version of the pattern wouldn't be so good but I didn't have any problems.

Here in Brazil it's really hard to find natural felt Sad

Thank you for the information but this store is probably not available here in Brazil *giggle*

That looks great, I have never attempted a hat.  I think you may have inspired me to try it!  Grin
