I Only LOOK Like a Sl*t Halter Top

This is my first big crochet project in a long time. And it's also the first wearable that isn't a scarf/hat/socks/gloves. I'm proud of myself!
Especially because I made it in less than 24 hours total. And less than 12 hours actual work. The only thing I don't like about it is the color, I call it 80's orange. I got it for free, and it was the only thing on hand that I had in bulk, so I used it, but I'd rather have a used a dark red. Or a purple.
Anyway, Here it is.

I've thought about it. But I'm pretty much positive that it's acrylic. I got the yarn from my mom's boss' mom, and I unraveled it from a scarf or two and so I don't know any details about the yarn.
But seeing as I'm almost positive that it's acrylic, I don't think it'll do any good.

Wow. I'm surprised at the response. I did this top kind of off the top of my head, but I'm making a similar one for a friend soon, so I'll try to take pics and set up a tut for it.

That's very true. Which is why I'm going to make a less revealing version for more every day wear. This is more along the lines of wearing over a bikini top at the beach in summer. And if I do a tute, it'll be aimed at building a unique top that's similar to this, so you can use your own stitch that's less revealing over the stomach.

It is revealing but it's very becoming, too.  You have the perfect body to pull it off! 

How did you just do this off the top of your head?!  Maybe I'll try something like this too, but cover up the back a bit more. 

Wait, how did you do the strap? Is it just a band of sc from one side to the next?    I love the halter style. Very cool!
