Do you fancy yourself a crafter? While the world is going crazy for Hannah Montana, do you find yourself drooling over Jenny Hart and Susan Stars? If so, we might have the opportunity for you.

The Bayou City’s first craft studio and sewing lounge is coming soon to the Heights area, and we need talented crafters to teach classes to the masses.

If you like people, love craft and want to make some extra money (plus perks like a retail discount and oodles of cupcakes – the owner loves to bake) – give us a shout!

We are currently looking for freelance instructors for to teach the following classes:
•   Sewing
•   Knitting
•   Paper Crafts (Scherenschnitte, collage, scrapbooking, bookbinding)
•   Silkscreening and Printmaking (non-toxic methods)
•   Kids Crafts
•   General Crafts

If any of these specialties rings your bell, send me a private message with your availability (how many classes you are interested in teaching a month and the times that you are available), your rates and links to any of your work on your blog, flicker or any craft blog, if you have them.

Just a question, do you have to be a 'liscensed' teacher or anything to teach these classes? Or is just being very experienced good enough?

I have been making jewelry of all kinds (resin, beads, leather, you name it) for years. I have been looking for a job doing crafty things but just come up empty. I would love to do a class.  I have been told I should teach craft stuff before. Once I went for a Jewelry demo at Michael's and the teacher disappeared and I kinda took over. She ended up asking me to stay till everyone left, she was swamped and overwhelmed. She offered me a job but at the time it didn't work.  A couple of people got my number to do classes in their homes. I would be very interested in speaking with you. Leslie!
