I bought a lovely glass chess game in a thrft store years ago. Without opening the box to check if everything was there. Of course it was the only box left. And of course pieces were missing. I often use the board as a tray. But the pieces are stuck in a box. They are too nice to be just thrown away, but I am tired to see them useless (I live in a tiny flat...). I was thinking about glueing them in a sort of sculpture, but I would rather do something more useful ? Any idea ?

Hey, I've made some key chains out of old games pieces in the past. I drilled a hole through the top and attached a key chain. simple! I painted mine hot pink too Smiley

other than that you could always try replacing the missing pieces by making your own from polymer clay or something.

People who take time to be alone usually have depth, originality, and quiet reserve.

He's missing his liver. That's how some kids react to the cafeteria food. The lucky ones.

Thanks for all your ideas. I think these pieces are too heavy to make jewelry or keychains (they are in glass), but I love the drawer handles idea ! But maybe I'll try to make all the pieces out of polymer clay or some casting resin to replace them so they'll look all the same. And use my glass left overs forthat handles ! Smiley

woudl a heavy dute magnet work to make them into magnets? those would be cool! or what about chess snow globes? you can make a snow globe out of old jars?

for the chess board itself if it's glass/marble, what about putting a table base on it and having a really cool flower pot older or end table?

How tall are the chess pieces?  I saw curtain rods with queen chess pieces on the ends.  They were so cute.
