Can I ask, what does the back look like?  Is it one sided, or did she knit a back too?  If so, is it plain, or does the tetris pattern continue to the back?

Sorry for all the questions!  I love this...I was thinking it might be great to make one for my hubby!

I have the same question -- I have been wanting to knit a tetris blanket for a while now but didn't realize Intarsia doesn't look all that hot on the wrong side, and I don't really want to knit two blankets and sew them together just to hide the back. So I'm curious how this was done...

It looks to me like it was knitted in the round, or possibly knitted flat and then seamed up one side.

Yep. she has sewing the side together, because all the thread was hanging down

Beautiful scarf!  And that is not a bad picture of you...your mother did a wonderful job of knitting...did you make up the  pattern?  I've not seen one before.
