ok i taught myself to crochet about a year ago.....but its been a busy year.....and nursing school doesnt allow much time for crafting!  so on my break....i wanted to try something that i thought was sooo cute but i didnt think i could do it since all ive ever made were simple beanies and stuff....
so i found this pattern it is a pattern made to make for blankets for charity.  To get the pattern you have to join the group and mail the creator at least one square to donate towards the blankets!  here is her link if you want the pattern or to learn more about it!  http://krochetkrystal.blogspot.com/

ok so what do you guys think??? its a little wonky and looks kinda funny from the varigated (sp?)  yarn......but ahh i love it!!! im going to make a blanket Smiley

thanks!!! Smiley   ohhh and i forgot to say that i was shocked when i measured it....the squares to donate are supposed to be 8 inches.......but i didnt pay any attention to guage and stuff when i was making it because i was just trying to figure out the pattern........and i didnt think it would be even close using such different types of yarn together lol......but when i measured it it was exactly 8 inches!

congrats. i have always sucked at trying to make blankets out of granny squares or any kind of square for that matter, I get bored. So anyone that can gets my automatic respect.

Your square is awesome! As a long-time granny squarer, I have a little tip for you - cut a cardboard template of the finished size and you can keep checking as you go.
As far as "wonkiness" - don't give it a second thought because the finishing and joining will fix it right up.
Keep up the great work!
