hey everyone
I'm a senior, and I want to give my teacher something at the end of the year to remember me by but I'm having trouble thinking of what.

here's the basics: She's been my teacher all 4 years of high school. she was my english teacher freshman year, and has been my newspaper advisor the other three years. She's also been my academic team coach for three years, so she's really been a great support and mentor to me.

More about her: she loves cake, and 80's music (journey, REO speedwagon, etc.) She's not going to be teaching next year because she just got her degree to be a librarian.

I was hoping that all these creative minds on craftster could come up with a few ideas

oh and i forgot to mention, I have about 5 months to complete the project

How about a nice stationary set with some fun 80's band logos and perhaps a journal to match..or a spiffy tote bag for books and such.

It's always great to have a teacher like that! I had one that I still keep in touch with seven years later! Good luck and I am sure that whatever you decide to make for her will make her day!

Cool ideas, cynlynn!

TheBeckster, your teacher has great taste in music (yes, I'm 18 and I listen to anything from the 60s to the 80s).   Grin

You could bake a fantastic cake and decorate it all cute-like... or you could make her some themed bookplates since she's gonna be a librarian...

wow, i did not know that you needed a degree to be a librarian! that's really interesting! since you consider her to be a mentor, why don't you write a little about her as your mentor in a scrapbook of photos of you and her? add some works that you did together, maybe in a portfolio style, some trivia about the bands and music that she's into? if you could stencil, a casette tape (sp?) would be cool, as those were the format where music came from. i hope this helps!
