rocking chair cushion

this is cushion i made for our rocking chair. i'm planning on using this fabric in our living room as pillows and also for the seat of the telephone table i refinished (pictures of that to come after the seat has been covered).

i'm super proud of this zipper. i did it like a couch cushion and folded the fabric and sewed it down to "hide" it.

i zigzagged all cut edges before sewing because they were fraying quite badly, which i think it what most home dec fabric does. all in all it was a fairly inexpensive project even though the 4" foam is pricey. i'm really looking forward to making more stuff for my living room. my summer project will the bedroom, i plan on making pillows, recovering lamp shades, and making a fabric headboard.
