I'm having a problem with step 5 of the pattern.

Do I work in back loops all the way around?   What is the 3 dc cluster in next 3 stitches?  Does that mean to dc 3 times in each of next 3?  And for that matter, how does the dc2tog in next 2 stitches count as the first cluster when you are decreasing?    I just don't get it.   This pattern has had me confused all the way through so far.
Rnd 4 and 5 below:

rnd 4: Ch 3, 6 dc in first sc (counts as first shell) *sk next 3 sc, sc in next sc, sk next 3 sc, shell in next sc; rep from * around to last 7 sts, sk next 2 sts, sc in next sc, sk next 3 sts, sl st in 3rd ch of turning ch to join, turn 12 shells

rnd 5: working in back loops of sts ch3, dc2tog in next 2 sts (counts as first cluster), hdc in next st, sc in next 3 sts, hdc in next st, *3-dc cluster in next 3 sts, hdc in next st, sc in ea of next 3 sts, hdc in next st; rep from * around sl st in third ch of turning ch to join turn - 72 sts

I'd really appreciate the help because I am completely lost.

I haven't made the bag yet but I stewed over the pattern a little. From what I've read though I'd think you'd do back loops only when it says, so yes all of row five i imagine would be back loop. And the 3 dc cluster is in the beginning under the special stitch section (under the gauge and materials etc.) The dc2tog would be the first cluster because the first three chains of the row would equal the first dc in the cluster. I hope that helps.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.  I get really confused by the way some patterns are worded for some reason.  :-)
