Hey wonderful spinning-type people!  I've been lurking for many a Friday, and I finally got my camera in order, so here's some recent spinning/dyeing stuff.  (Sorry I still have to post links, being a n00b has its downsides.)
This is the free mystery wool that came with my shiny new Baynes ST.  It's a lovely hunter green with different colored accents.  It's a little thick and thin b/c I was breaking in the wheel with it.

Levi: I bought this wool at MD Sheep and Wool last year; i don't remember what kind it is, but it's super soft and totally looks like vintage jeans in person.
I did my first dyeing experiments on my handspun a couple of weeks ago.  This is Fuego, a fiery mix of cherry and tangerine
And Loop, that I swear looks like Froot Loops in person.  The wool for this and Fuego is Leicester that I got at the last MD Sheep and Wool, and is my first wheel-spun thing ever.  There's some thrift-store yarn from the same dye lot for comparison

And I'm plying my last bobbin of this shiny shiny wool/soysilk blend.  I lurve this fiber.  Like, my gf should start to worry.

That's it for now.  I've gotten a second wheel and gone a bit dye-crazy, so hopefully I'll have more for next week.  Thanks!

Some amazing yarns this week. Lovely colors in so many of them I wish I could just touch them all because they look so soft.

I don't have a wheel of my own, but I had the chance to go into the local guild studio where I tried out a few wheels and came up with this in the hour and a half or so I was at the studio. It's some superwash merino that I purchased in a small batt.

Jazzturtle, that fiber is from November, Boogie (Amy) usually ships on the 20th of the month so keep an eye on your mail this coming week.

I'm so in love with these. All of them!

I'm going to have to get in here a little earlier I see though, I missed some very pretty yarns I would have loved to work with. He he.

*Sets up tent and roasts a marshmallow over a small fire* I'll be here camping out ^-~

I'm bringing sexy back, I think I dropped it somewhere between the donut shop and the Cheesecake Factory.

Love me some yarns, as always. Here's what I've got...

This is She Ra. She Ra is a sheep that lives on a farm near where I live. I bought her roving at a craft fair. She was fun to spin and full of all sorts of chunkedies, which I left in there because I felt like they should be in there. Can't really see it from this picture, but the yarn has such a farmish, homespun feel with all it's imperfections. I can't wait to knit it!

Remember the Rainbow Sherbert roving? Now it's yarn! I would like to provide a better view of what it really looks like but my photo skills are limited.

I like making stuff. Rumor has it, I'm an elf. Like a Santa Elf, not one of those elegant LOTR types.  Mostly because I compulsively craft and partially because I have green shoes.

I'm a bit late this week, because my camera hated me yesterday...
Now it works again, and here is what I produced this week:

desert sunrise, together 75m/41g

spun from these batts:

I used brown shetland roving and all scraps I had lying around (without the green and grey ones).

Just a quick post for today. I made hypnotic- A 78 yard skein of merino plied with handpainted silk knots in purples and blues. It's so soft and luxurious!
