I was just wondering what you guys use for bag straps
I'm taking about in general here,
I sometimes use ribbons (but they don't feel strong enough,)

Basically I was just wondering if you guys had an useful information when it comes to making handles for bags
Thank You

I've made a couple of bags using belts as straps and they turned out really nice.  I also saw a purse made with watches straped together that was interesting.  And of course, you can make a strap out of the fabric you are using.  I guess it depends on what you want the purse to look like.  I'm currently making a purse with a strap made out of felt with a necklace sewed to it because the colors in the necklace went so well with the purse.  I get a lot of my purse making supplies at the thriftstore and repurpose them.  Have fun!

I mostly use the fabric of the main bag. For my own bag, I measure how long I want it & line it w/something coordinating - the main fabric is in 1 long strip & the lining is sometimes in 2 pieces w/interfacing in the middle. I have used web straps, I have also bought cheap bags from the thrift store & taken handles off of them.

Does anyone care to share their method for covering nylon strapping with fabric?  I can't figure out the  best way to avoid bulky seams.
