I started this last fall, and I probably got bored with sewing summer clothes when winter was coming so I stopped.  But, I found it yesterday and now that we are in the armpit of winter, and when when when is spring coming already, the colours made me feel a bit less blah.  So I finished it.  Had a bugger of a time with the zipper, but that's what I get for abandoning it for 5 months.

Intended to be a gift for a wee friend, who will be 1 yr this year.

The top is from a commerical pattern, New Look something or other.  I'll find the # if anyone wants it.  The bottom is just a patchwork tube, gathered into a skirt.

Now that I'm looking, I think I need to find some orange ribbon to put around as a sash (which is what I probably intended originally, but 5 months is way too long for my brain to remember some detail like that).

Anyway,  Smiley

Super cute!  I love the rainbow patchwork.  I am hoping to get around to making a dress with a skirt like that before my daughter is too old to be interested in it.  Great job!  (as usual!!)  Grin

We are in the process of switching over to cloth diapers.  Would love some advice, hint, tips.   Will swap for diapers!

Adorable! I wish I had had one when I was little. That is going to be a very lucky little girl.

I love the idea of the orange ribbon sash.

Thanks all!

but, I'm thinking the sizing on commerical patterns is completely wacky.  This is the 12m dress on my 3 yr old:

which is a bit short in the bodice but fits her arms and width just fine.  This is not going to fit a 1 yr old  Undecided

Aren't babies a bit chubbier than toddlers?  (I don't have wee monkeys, so I don't know).  It should fit, and if it doesn't, she'll grow into it, right?

Visit http://ghilie.wordpress.com/ for the poppet pattern.
