After I went through all the fabric samples I got from my mother (1st post, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=259014.msg2898218#msg2898218, 2nd post: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=259933.msg2909987#msg2909987) and made what I could with those I was looking at 6 pairs of jeans that I have collected from my own closet as well as  from others who were going to give them to good will. I had a few ideas but none were motivating me to take action until I started my "idea book".

So last night after I had gotten my son to bed I went into my craft room and went through all my fabric. I noticed that my pile of 1/2 yards were piling up. So I decided to make tote bags with the jeans and 1/2 yards. it's a simple design with no pockets in the inside but there is one that I added to the outside from the pockets of the jeans.

For this being my first one it's on the smaller side (using the bottom part of the legs) and next time I will make it larger (the top sections of the legs) so I can add more of the pockets from the jeans. I'm also going to use cotton webbing for the handles to certain bags if the colors work. For this one's handles I used what little fabric I had left after using it for the lining.

I like the colors scheme.  So, you used the top of the legs of jeans for the top of the purse and came down the leg for the bottom?  This is cute.  I just cut some jeans up thinking about turning the waist into a apron.  Got some legs lying around.  I looked at your clutch purses they are adorable.

No, I turned the jeans into Bermuda shorts and used the pieces I cut off into the purse.

Wonderful job and your clutches are really nice, too!
