This is a doily I just made, I got the pattern through crochet pattern central, but couldn't find it again so I can't put a link to it, it is out there though.

wow, it is beautiful. ive been wanting to try a doily but im intimated.  is it really hard?  Im a somewhat advanced crocheter - so i'm thinking i can tackle one.  they just look so intricate!  did you have to do anything to keep it flat?

That came out really, really well.  Congratulations.

And in response to artzyfartzy, no, they're not hard at all.  I was kind of intimidated the first time too but I went ahead and did it.  They're just a little intricate.  As long as you keep everything even, you'll be fine.  And to keep it flat, you do have to block it or starch it.  Nothing to complicated though.

That's so pretty!!!

How big did your doily come out to be?

Is this the pattern you used? http://hometown.aol.com/lffunt/petitepine.htm
I've had it bookmarked to make a blanket out of WW yarn, but totally forgot about it.  I think I might just do it soon!

You did a Great Job!

That is so beautiful! I've tried multiple times to make doilies.. I just dont think I have the dexterity for such small yarn and hooks. But this is lovely!

Yeah, that is the pattern I used, it was really easy and quick. I've done doilies before but this was probably one of the easiest. It wasn't very flat but I steamed it with the iron and it flattened and then I just pressed it!
