Dead easy and way off gauge, but it fits, stays on, looks nice and keeps his little ( big) head warm.  I used the free pattern from Froggie Meanie http://froggiemeanie.blogspot.com/2007/12/golden-compass-hat-happy-holidays.html  in the adult size.  All from my growing stash.  This is my first wearable, non scarf knitting project.  I would love your feedback!

There are a few more photos on my blog,( http://carmen-whome.blogspot.com/2008/01/winter-walk-lyras-hat-and-armour.html ) I did Froggie's three needle bind off to get the ridge in the back and made the ties a bit longer.

I really like this hat! It's basically a rectangle folded in half? And what a sweet little model you've got!

If all our life is but a dream, fantastic posing greed
Then we should feed our jewelry to the sea
For diamonds do appear to be
Just like broken glass to me.

i wonder if this would be as cute on an adult sized head? i only have little boys to knit baby hats for & i don't think they'd appreciate it haha.
