Since Jacob was received so well, here's the next one in my series of portraits. I used to do a lot of illustration and wanted to do comics, so I have a lot of characters kicking around in my head, I'm thinking of doing a portrait for each, and then making quilted frames for them and joining them together into a wall hanging or quilt.

So here's Hazel the Jackalope Farmer and baby Jack.

Oh, that's gorgeous! And she has such a sweet look on her face, too. Out of curiosity, what does she raise jackalopes for? Release into the wild, pets, food?

The one she has is a baby, they get very, very big, about the size of a small elephant, and people ride them. They're the main source of transport across the Great Grass Sea. I don't think she'd dream of eating them!

i'm totally crazy about this.... it is so beautiful!  just wondering, about how long does it take you to complete one of these amazing pieces?  it looks like it would take quite a bit of patience!

It's hard to say, I work on them while I'm sitting at work--I finished this over 2 weeks, but I worked a little here, a little there. Maybe about 15 hours?  I know school has been whipping me into shape, that doesn't feel like that long anymore~
