i made this as a wedding gift for my best friend from college!  hopefully she doesn't read craftster...  hmm.  anyway, i'll take that risk!

here it is before blocking!

and here it is blocking on my floor!

the specs:
cascade eco+ yarn (a bit over one skein)
size 10 needles
took about a month and a half
pattern is here: http://brooklyntweed.blogspot.com/2007/08/hemlock-ring-blanket.html
came out to a little under four feet in diameter

Gorgeous! Someone gave me a large doily for my wedding 9 years ago and I still have it. My kids like to play like it's a spider web and I always get indignant over them doing that. Yours turned out beautiful. I love the color.

I looked at the one before blocking and thought, what is that, a retarded flower? Cheesy
But the blocked one looks great! It would also work as a tablecloth for a round table, you know, the kind where it hangs a lot off the sides.

thanks for the compliments!  i wish it had turned out a bit bigger, but oh well.  i think if i make it again i might go up a needle size.  i am a tight knitter, so i probably should've taken that into account when deciding on needle size!

i hope they can still find a use for it.  her hubby is super tall, so it could keep, like, his knees warm and that's about it!

I'm so impressed!  Ilove the work, and your photos really show the power of blocking.
