It took me a while of sitting and just staring at your pictures, but NOW I GET IT!! (The "mountain fold"-"valley fold"- "cut" descriptions in the different colors helped a LOT!)

Okay, I played with your design a little and made my own.  It's in a separate post here

As I was making it I realized that the part cut from the top half of the card can be any shape (doesn't have to be straight lines) so I cut it in a curve to fit the heart shape better.
