A nurse in our community started a program called "Sweet Dreams" as a way to give back to the community that helped her as a child battling bone cancer.

This is a pillow case project.  She sends pillow cases to the children's hospitals in our area to be give to the children that have entended hospital stays.  The nusrses at the hospitals say that the pillow cases bring the children joy. They also say that the children have multiple uses for the pillow cases from trick or treat bags to bags, to carry their "stuff" home from the hosiptal.

The pillow cases are currently running low and the hospital is calling for more.  Can you or will you help?

The pillow cases must be new and unwashed.  You can sew a new pillow case or embellish a store bought one.  They can be embellished with items that will not come off or that can be washed.  Paints are fine.  I have had a great time picking out children's fabric to make the pillow cases.

My son has taken this on as a cub scout project.  If you are interested in donating fabric or pillow cases please IM me for more info.

Thanks,
Tonya

Id love to make some nifty pillow cases for the children.  You said the pillow cases must be new though.  Does that mean I could buy material and make ones then?  Let me know.  Or send me the web address so I can check the guidlines myself.

It would be wonderful if we could get some more information about this. It's such a great idea. Thanks!
