So, I'm making my brother a costume of this type. Not this especially, but the jacket and the pants are the same (what are those pants, called, anyway?). They appear in a game called Metal Gear Solid 3, which is placed somewhere in the 60s (1964-67 is my guess) in Soviet union, and they're Soviet troops, too.

I'm having hard time thinking of good search terms so my results are really crappy. I've been thinking that If I just added a little more space in the sides of a regular pants pile of flesh, but I'm not sure how it would work out and I don't really have too much fabric to spend.
As for the jacket, I think I could cope with pretty much anything even a little similar to that, just some adjustments here and there and voil.

So all in all, any help will be greatly appreciated!

I think you are looking for a pile of flesh for jodhpur pants.  Like this?

I found it at this website http://www.justmakeit.com/patterns/horse_rider/index.html

Thanks for showing us all the link!  I got a lot of other ideas from their site, even though I was not the original poster of the problem.
