"Equestrian" Dress

[Red Cat, White Velvet]

Here is another "scrap" dress made in the same style as my "Cigarette Girl" dress.  The bodice is a dusky lavender crepe-backed satin and the skirt is the wool houndstooth.  I liked the contrast of the textures of the two fabrics and have been trying to explore that more.  The houndstooth fabric along with the leather and silver trim at the hem seems somehow equestrian to me hence the name. 

I also used my scrap houndstooth fabric to make buttons.  I must be easily amused because making buttons delights me FAR more than it should.   

This would definitely only be worn with a pair of ultra-black tights so don't worry.

Girl, you've done it again. This is absolutely scrumptious!!  I love the dusty purple bodice, the buttons, and the hemming detail of the skirt. And you've got the perfect kind of figure to pull it off fabulously! I love it!!

Fabulous!  I'm particularly charmed by the no-hem hem---I just got a few rolls of that spiffy grommet ribbon myself, and now I know what to do with 'em
