Big Eyed Bird Takes a Note

I wanted to make an entry for this challenge but was completely stumped as to what to make. I didn't start on this until late friday night. I worked on it all day yesterday when I was supposed to be doing other stuff...of course.

If there isn't enough sheet music on this to actually qualify I totally understand and have no problem with it. I'm really grateful that this challenge came along and got me off my butt to try something new.

And in case anyone was wondering what on earth I used as a base. I don't know what it is but I have another one. I picked them up beacause they were cool, metal and rusted. What a great combination. I've had them for about 5 years and had no earthly idea what I was going to do with them. Man, I'm glad I hung onto them.

All the materials I used on this I already had including the big bag of celluclay that I never got around to playing with. It was my first time using it and I really enjoyed it. I had quite a few panicky moments on saturday when I woke up after finishing it the night before and it was still just as wet. 2 hours later baking in the oven and yay! (Barely fit too)

It's called Celluclay. Believe it or not I lost the instructions  . Sooo I had to go online to figure out how to use it. Beyond easy. It's a gray almost powdered paper pulp that you simply add water to. In whatever consistency you want to work with. I did find that although it says you can make it as rough or smooth as you want that it really kinda wants to be rough. Maybe I didn't mix it as well as I should have, however, I really really like the rough texture because I was able to make it look more grungy with my painting.
The package also states that this form saves you from all the other messy steps involved with paper strips and whatnot.
Balki I think you would really like this stuff.
