There are alot of really cool places in downtown baltimore and around there. If you can get your hands on one - pick up a City Paper- they have tons of ads for all of the funky little shops!  Grin

Hi All,
I live in North Laurel. Yes, there's a JoAnns and a Michaels, but I am having a hard time connecting with anyone who is into crafting, knitting sewing. Sometimes I am at the bookstore on Saturdays, crocheting or knitting hoping to garner some interest. I even do it while waiting in the bank or at the grocery store. People look, but no one says anyhting. I've tried to start a crafting club or a S & B cafe type thing, but no one seems interested. Does anything crafty happen here?

I can't believe this is the first time I found this thread! Duh!
I'm from Western Maryland - Hagerstown to be exact. Not the hippest place in the universe (or Maryland for that matter).
Earl's brother Randy took a bus out here once (They Call Me Earl) and we graced the world with Kix.  Shocked
Any other Haggers?

I'm jealous. I didn't know about this site til a few months ago when I moved to Denver, CO, from Hagerstown. Raised in Clear Spring.

Somehow I thought I'd already posted on this thread but I guess not!

Takoma Park - just outside of DC.

and for all you DC suburb types, we have a knitting group that meets in downtown Silver Spring twice a month that's really fun - pm me if you're interested and I'll send you an invite! Smiley

I'm in the Frederick/Hagerstown/Middletown area. Brunswick to be exact. But I work in washington county between Boonsboro and Hagerstown. haha When I saw the post describing the Hagerstown Joann's as "the armpit of hell" I hadn't thought of it that way before but I thought "yeah, that's about right." Frederick's Joann's is SOOOOO much better.
