I couldn't wait for my spindle to get here so last night I grabbed some roving from my needle felting bag and started to twist. I wrapped it around my finger for the first bit until my finger started to hurt so I switched to a dowel rod I had around.

*sorry about the link, they are working on the lines around here and my connection is too slow for the uploading tool here. -_-*

It was fun, and I can't wait for my drop spindle and the 8oz I ordered to get here!

I will have to find a better way of keeping the tension when I set it though as it lost a bit of that in the process.

I'm bringing sexy back, I think I dropped it somewhere between the donut shop and the Cheesecake Factory.

Thanks

This is a very inspiring board! I never even thought of spinning my own yarn (though I only use it for doll hair and jewelry) until I stumbled across it here. Hubb says inspiring isn't the word, lol.

Actually I spent this afternoon buying the parts for a Navajo Spindle to build. Now I've got a lot of whittling and sanding ahead, but I'm excited.
