On a related note, I am taking a class at the Bead Monkey in St Paul next Monday (wire lace). I plan/hope to take a bunch of their classes through the Fall (mainly at 50th & France, though). I am waiting to see if a French class I want to take will have enough students to run before I sign up for more, but I plan to try to take mainly the metal/solder/rivet/pmc type classes. I can only do weekend ones IF the French class works out, though. Anyway, if anyone is interested in joining me I will keep you posted as I figure out what I am doing!

Lots of crafty transplants here! I'm originally from Michigan but have been in MN for almost three years. I live down in Mankato which is about an hour and a half from the cities but I like to go up there a lot. (there is so much more to do!)

I've been trying a lot of different crafting lately. I just started really getting into sewing and making actual garments but I enjoy DIY projects and learning new things.

I agree it's very hard to make friends here if you're an out-of-towner. It seems that with the whole "Minnesota Nice" thing it would be easier but that hasn't been my experience.
