I've been in a bit of a soap making rut (ie I haven't made any new bars in a while) and am needing a little inspiration because everything sounds boring. I usually make about 6 batches at a time, so I need a little push to bother getting out all my equipment.

Soooo, what's your fave bar and why? One of my faves that I've made is lime essential oil with a little black pepper essential oil and a tiny touch of patchouli to ground it all, colored with lime green and black pigments. It smells really neat and looks awesome.

Myfavorite is my ocean bar. It's scented with bb's seashore and salty mariner. the bottom two thirds is my basic bar with rose clay and the top third is a whipped shea butter soap. There's a spirulina pencil line between the two layers.
It smells wonderful! I only wish I'd put in green clay like I'd wanted. I totally spaced out that day.  Roll Eyes

I also REALLY love my peppermint/clove blend. There's a little bit of sandlewood to give it some earthyness. It's colored with a bit of coco powder and burgundy pigment.

I hear you on the soaping rut. I haven't made anything in over a month. I'll make a new batch once I pick apart the fragrance in some lotion I found while moving. So far I can smell chocolate, sandlewood, and rose. Maybe cinnamon and patch. Grr...it's driving me nuts.

OOh I love the sound of your ocean bar! I haven't tried that brambleberry scent but had an ocean one I really liked (darn supplier went out of business tho). I made it into sea salt bars with a touch of kelp.

I do need to make some kind of new mint bar...maybe mint and eucalyptus? One of my faves is my double mint bar, it is bottom layer spearmint with green jojoba beads and top layer peppermint with blue jojoba beads.

Maybe if I just sit down and look at my essential oils I'll have some kind of motivation? hmm...

I have no skill whatsoever in smelling something blended and figuring out what it is...good luck!

Yum! Was it molded to look like a cinnamon bun, or just had those scents in a reg bar?

It's one of my most simple soaps, but also one of my favorites:  Rosemary Mint.  It has rosemary EO, peppermint EO, and French green clay.  Has also been one of my best sellers for several years, and turns out such a pretty, dark green sage color.

Yum, love the rosemary mint. I wonder what else rosemary would blend well with? I have a ton of essential oils but can't always think of creative ways to blend them. I need to pull out this little wheel thing I have I guess that shows complimentary eo's and base, mid, top notes.

I've never used french green clay but want to try it. I do love rose clay!

My favorite was my "refreshing mix" part lemon and part spearmint. Your skin felt all cool and refreshing when you got out of the shower.

Everyone else always loves my "odor eater" soap, made with coffee in it. I change the fragrances everyt ime i make it though. Usually things like pacthouli, frankincense, orange, tea tree, etc.

I make one that I call "Sandalwood Cookie". I blend Dark Chocolate Supreme FO and Sandalwood FO, color it with Amber Mica, then sprinkle the top of the loaf with cocoa powder.

The ocean bar does sound awesome! I've been dying to try whipped soap.
