I have been toying with watercolor for about 6 six years now.  I have had some success but along the way I have a great deal of practice runs on good expensive watercolor paper.  This year I found a way to reuse that experimentation.  I've been making pendants.

I purchase the trays on line - embossed my papers, used pearl powders, metallic crayons and then sealed everything with this non- toxic liquid glass stuff.

They made great Christmas gifts.  I sold some as well!

I didn't want to work with toxic resin.  I didn't want to research it, learn how to use it or store it because I'm sensitive to harsh smells.  So I tried a couple other products and I was pleased with this combination

First I applied Art Accentz Terrifically Tacky Tape (Michaels) so that the watercolor wouldn't be distorted when the liquid was applied.  The tape is double sided and you heat it to get a smooth finish.  Once that was dry I applied a layer of Crystal Lacquer (found on line at paperstudio.com).  The lacquer is safe - they say that kids can use it.  I had no problem with the smell.  People are fooled, they think it's glass or polished plastic.

Those are really pretty, I especially like the first single picture.   I have been looking for an alternative to resin, so thanks for helping!
