So, I always like the finished product...and I love coming up with the ideas, but about half way through the decorating I'm cursing myself for ever starting!!!
I've made a few special cakes for people, these are the only ones I have pictures of though.  I use a box cake mix but I always make my own icing.  I add Almond extract instead of vanilla...and it is so yummy.

This one I found a picture of on the internet somewhere...it was so cute.

I made my sister a dinosaur cake once, and the spots (I guess it was a spotted dinosaur) were made of marzipan.  We hid it in the living room to keep it from the dog, but he lept over the dog-gate and polished off 1/3 of the cake before anyone noticed!

And then, of course, he was sick!

I love cakes like this!

I made a Thomas cake something like yours back when my son was little - he'll be 20 this year!  Shocked  (And he still secretly loves Thomas. Cheesy)

Thomas is a great obsession at our house.  My son who is four has gotten the whole family involved.  His latest thing is calling me the OLD SLOW COACH.  This I do not appreciate.  I know he will still love trains when he is 20.

And to lil_abi:  I would have cried!
