So of late I've started cooking more and more often... Perhaps my new girlfriend has been inspiring (she's incredibly intuitive in the kitchen)...  I love diving into my fridge and cupboards on my days off and just improvising delectables.  I have started watching cooking shows like mad... I'm totally addicted to Food Network (my favorites are Jamie Oliver and Giada De Laurentiis).  But even between impromptu snacks during Giada's Weekend Getaways and spontaneous recipes from my lady, I'm still left wanting more.  Which brings me to the point of this post.  I'm interested blogs.  I'd like to know what everyone's favorite culinary blogs are... they could be about shopping at farmer's markets or wine and food pairing or everyday recipes... I'm just dying to know what great food blogs lay out there waiting to inspire...

So which blogs keep you all excited about cooking?

I feel like we're in the same boat! I've recently just started becoming excited by cooking and baking as well. I never knew what a therapeutic hobby it could be! Here are some of my favourite foodie blogs Smiley

I really like going to the Food Network's website and searching through the recipes there.  I don't really read any cooking blogs, but I do have some websites that I like.

http://www.ruchiskitchen.com/recipe.htm   This website has a lot of Indian recipes, if you're into Indian food.  I've made several recipes from this site, and all have turned out delicious.

Giada is one of my favorites on Food Network too.  I think her food is the most appealing.  I also love Alton Brown.

Some of my faves:

Smitten Kitchen http://smittenkitchen.com/
SlashFood http://www.slashfood.com/

All Recipes.com is a site I go back to again and again for inspiration.  http://allrecipes.com/

And Alton Brown is just about my fave "food star" on the teevee.  Cool

Although not a vegetarian, I love Green Gourmet Giraffe. I especially love that her desserts and things are often rich and chocolatey (NOT carob!), and that she dabbles in gluten-free and vegan as well.

I love:

http://chocolateandzucchini.com (mostly French cuisine)
http://steamykitchen.com/blog/ (mostly Asian cuisine)
http://onehotstove.blogspot.com/ (mostly Indian cuisine)

And a couple that rarely-if-ever post anymore, but it's fun to browse the archives:

I'm obsessed with http://lunchinabox.net/  - but its geared towards bento lunch.  However, lots of recipes could be used for other meals.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Well Fed yet - he posts beautiful step-by-step pictures and I've enjoyed re-creating several of his recipes. In fact, I made Beef and Guinness Pies with English Cheddar and (Alton Brown's) Peas for dinner tonight and paired it with a Shiraz. If my husband's empty plate and longing looks at the leftovers (boxed up for lunch already) were any indication, it was a smashing success.
