Since trawling through these pages in the past few weeks I've been really inspired to try out all kinds of things. For instance, I came across this post: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=212201.0
I'm not exactly a bead weaver, but I was stirred enough to give peyote a whirl and this is what I came up with. It's a sort of new rave spin on things. I don't have gorgeous delicas or seed beads in my possession, so this is the combination I went with instead. The cuff form is made out of S'ghetti strings, and most of the 'beads' are actually odd lengths of S'ghetti strings that I cut into itty bitty bits, the bright colored accents are perler beads, and kiddish beads that used to come in craft kits that were given to me eons ago. Then I stitched them together with what basic beadwork stitching that I know, and this is what I got!

Freeform really means I didn't know what I was doing or going for most of the time, but that was also the fun part. It's really dorky and kooky, especially with some of those helix shapes, but I kinda like it that way; perfect for indie disco nights at the club me thinks Smiley

Anyhoo, thanks for stopping by!

Fun!  With the helix shapes and the dotty bits it looks like an illustration from a science text.  That's a compliment, btw!  The pink pickup truck... makes it like the Science of Modern Life or something from the 50s.  Kinda.   Wink

Haha, thanks! I think the pick-up truck lends the whole piece a kitschy charm or something like that. I've got a load of other neon plastic trinkets like that I'm dying to use! I think I might try proper DNA strands next. I'm dorky like that Smiley

Wow! Thanks for all the encouraging comments! Brightened up my day for sure Smiley

doxiemommy: If anyone did steal this off of my arm, I'd be nothing but extremely flattered!

ailurophile: Thank you! I actually just checked out your seed bead flowers too, it's gorgeous! I've only just started combing through the internet picking up on beadwork stitching and weaving, and experimenting with techniques, the work I've seen here in that area has been really helpful. Hope to see more!
