Ok, here's my entry in the challenge.  This is my first time dealing with paper like this, but it was a learning experience.

my book safe

I used the pages out of the book to cover the outside.  Then I used words in the book to embellish.
front of book

back of book

This is what I started with, an old music textbook.

the inside and with some of my guitar supplies

This was a fun project for me.

I love it!  That's so awesome that you decorated the cover with the pages.  Very clever, and it suits the purpose of the 'book' great!

Pinokeeo-you're going to be as good an artist in paper as you are in wood Grin This is an excellent recon of the book and I love how it fits the use.

Nicely done! You are certainly the queen of carving, regardless of the medium.  Smiley (My 1st attempt at a book-safe is such a choppy, lumpy mess; yours is so cleanly cut and the outside looks smooth as any uncut book!)

Thanks for all the positive comments.  I was afraid it would look wonky, because I didn't have anything to smooth out the pages.  I used a rag to keep pushing the bubbles out.  And I had watered down glue everywhere.  But I'm happy with my first effort.

Now maybe I can do something fun with my new scrapbook that I got in the Silly Santa swap. Wink
