I was in a swap with the fabulous Crafty_Dame.
A stylish lady with a love of embroidery  Smiley
Here's one of the crafts I was inspired to make for her

I may have to make something similar for myself now - it was hard to let go of!

Edited to add:
Here's another pic to give an idea of size

Wow! I really love the style of it with the different mix of fabrics and lace and stitching. That would go so well in my curio cabinet. Cheesy

This is insane! I love it! Really, this should be in a gallery! I could see a whole series of stitched organs.  I think the addition of the plastic tubing as the arteries was a stroke of brilliance.  The juxtiposition of the "crafty" materials with the more "scientific/artificial" tubing really extends the irony of the piece to a higher level.
I can't tell you how brilliant I think this is.  You should definately persue this stroke of inspiration you've found here.  If I was brillliant enough to have thought of this, I'd be making a whole series and looking to some local art galleries to show them.
I'm a huge fan, Jane Doe!

is it styrofoam inside? i've been trying to figure it out...

Yep - as a base, I started with a styrofoam egg.
Then, I put the plastic tubing in before putting the fabric on.
The fabric pieces, used to be all kinds of things - my hubby's old shirt, silk, medical gauze, etc
That I dyed in tea to make the colours kinda blend.
With the exception of the gauze and the red

Wow! I really love the style of it with the different mix of fabrics and lace and stitching. That would go so well in my curio cabinet. Cheesy

Before I sent it, and I was still crafting the rest of the package, I did just that!
I had it with my other oddities and I miss it now.

My next heart I want to try make, is a steampunk heart

Way cool; I may need to make one of these for valentine's day!  (ok, yes, last year I made my boy a zombie that had ripped her heart out and he thought that was sweet...)

try a pet store, one that specializes in fish stuff. i'm sure i've seen light blue. another option would be to run paint through the inside of the tubing.

i used to do wire sculptures with tubing like that in it, and sometimes i'd fill the tubing with beads - that's another way to add colour.

i'm so tempted to haul out my wire sculpture supplies right now... jane doe's inspired me!

That etsy seller is immediately what I thought of as well! We used to sit beside each other in a few classes in university!

Did she sew them during class??  I'd always be peeking out the corner of my eye to see what she was doing, if she did. Cheesy

Holy god that's beautiful. Well done!

I especially love the choice of fabrics. It's a sort of old-timey feel of embroidery and lace, the gentle and delicate crafty side contrasts so strongly with the harsh straight plastic tubing and the object represented which is wet and messy.

Just incredible!
