Fabric is taking over my house!

I started making this clutch a looong time ago for my friend who travels a lot and wanted a clutch to carry her papers and everything in. I made her a messenger bag out of the same fabric and I had just enough leftover for this. She picked out the fabric herself from Ikea, it's home dec weight so it's nice and sturdy.

Technically it's not done yet. The inside isn't completely attached because I despise hand sewing. I got all excited to do it, finished one side, my thread broke and I haven't touched it since. This was supposed to be a Christmas present! Oh well, maybe she'll get it for her birthday (April 2nd!)

All of the pockets are super convenient. It even fits a full size letter envelope in the top pocket.

I love this style so much I'm going to make one for myself! I thought it was a pretty difficult project though. It was hard for me to visualize the instructions, and you sew through so many layers towards the end. Plus a lot of the stitching shows through to the outside and mine didn't come out too straight. The hardest thing for me was the ruffles because the fabric was pre-hemmed, and that was the section I used so it was really thick. I'll definitely try it again with different fabric though. What do y'all think??  Grin

Thank you everyone! I love this fabric too. I really used up every last bit of it with this project though. Looks like I need to make another trip to Ikea!

Man, that clutch holds a lot of stuff.

And I didn't even fill up all the pockets! I didn't feel the need to completely empty my wallet/purse just for a photo. There's definitely a ton of room in this clutch. Don't forget there's a velcro pocket on the outside too!
