I'm just a girl... trying to go green

So, I just started sewing again this weekend for the Craft Challenge - and realized that my plastic box of straight pins wasn't cutting it.   So, I did a search on crocheted pincushions today and found this super cute pattern - http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=32761

And now, the results:

If I was to make it again, I would make the donut larger.  Although she says she made it larger to keep pins from poking out, I still had to insert my pins at a sharp angle to keep it safe  Smiley

I like that it turned out pretty similar to The Simpsons Movie donut  Grin

I love this idea!! I was just looking at a magazine recently and i came a cross a knitted doughnut and they gave the price of the thing if you to buy it at this store and I almost had a heart attach when i saw it. I bet you could make one of this for a couple of dollars at the most right? why are they charging almost 10 dollar for it at a store? My jaw just dropped to the floor haha o.k. enough of my ranting and raving.
thank you so much for posting the pattern!!

I'm glad you can use the pattern!  Yea, the materials probably don't add up to more than a dollar or two, and the time commitment was only half an hour - for my first attempt...

Thank you so much for finding the pattern!  My fiance is crazy about donuts.  I will have to make this for him.
