I broke up with this guy almost two years ago.  When things ended I made him a beautiful accordion book with my favorite poem and lots of sentimental items within.  The book turned out to be the best creation I had ever made.  I've tried to recreate it but my drawings and collage never turn out like the original.  And worse I didn't any take pictures.

Anyway, things did not end badly and we run into each other from time to time.  Recently I felt comfortable asking for the book back to take some pictures.  When he emailed me back he called it "that old note" - and I was already tempted to keep it.

What should I do.  I want the book.  He is getting married and doesn't need it, read it, understand it or appreciate it.  I'm really good at telling lies.  I want to tell him that I sent it into a magazine like Cloth Paper Scissors and hope he forgets.

This however goes against the meaning and inspiration of the book.  What do you think?

Keep it! You could just explain to him that you're really proud of of your craft and would like to keep it. Or you could just keep it.  Wink

Hey There! Yep, still here...and freezing! If you feel guilty you could ask for it back. Tell the little voice to go catalogue something and leave you alone!  Wink

If he still had it after all that time it might have meant something to him, so you should ask if you can keep it.  Also keep in mind that many men get rid of these things when they get married so he most likely wont mind.

If you have it now-KEEP IT! I wouldn't even bother
lying about it.
I'd suggest making him a new possibly blank book for
his new wife to fill in. SO do you have pictures? I'd
love to see it!

I say keep it!  I love the idea of making a blank one for him in exchange.  Tell him it is for him to record a new chapter.  Don't even ask him.  Just give him the new one and don't even mention the other one.  Good luck!  I would also love to see it!

Whether he really cares about it or couldn't care less, you should keep it.  DO what ever you have to do to keep it.  Because if he couldn't care less about it, he'll never notice or remember its gone, and if he loves it his wife will detroy it!

That's funny!  I kept it.  He hasn't said a thing in all this time - I'm sure he thinks about other things these days, and I do too.
