I saw these row counter bracelets in an ad in the new knit1 magazine a couple weeks ago and decided that they were charging way too much for an easily replicated concept.

It's kind of like an abacus for your arm.  There are 9 beads on each strand and as you knit each row you can slide a bead over.  One strand is for counting 10's and one is for counting 1's.  So when you have nine 1's, you slide them all back to the beginning and slide one 10's bead over.  For example, this pink and green bracelet is counting 24 rows:

The little ring of silver beads is on stretchy cord so that it can be popped over beads and hold your counters in place while you wear the bracelet inbetween mad knitting sessions.  Some of the bracelets don't have their stretchy rings yet, but you get the picture.  Smiley

Just for fun, these are the dowel needles I made to go with them when I gave them as gifts.  I used a tutorial here on Craftster!

Those are fab!  Much less fiddley than making the little marker/counters.  Are you going to sell those?  You could easily make money on them.

Those are absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much for bringing them to everyone's attention. All the time I've wasted counting rows and stiches...only to get distracted and have to start again...sigh.

Those are great! Just so I've got it... You can move the little silver stretchy beads and use the counter while you're actually wearing the bracelet, right?

Beautifully done, and inspirational too! <runs off to the bead store>

Those are a great idea!  I would be really into that, but I have a question.  How do you keep the  counters from moving when you move?  Is there something that will hold them in place?   Huh

Such a great idea!  I'll have to make a trip to the bead store soon!  Thanks for sharing this with us.
