Jeeze, thanks again you guys!
I know what you mean Flapper, about this forum being great for ideas, and seeing published patterns in a different way.
Aw, I totally want that book now...the pics they showed were inspiring, without being too overwhelming.  I usually find myself rather discouraged by the patterns I see in many books--I never see any that I like AND look like I could actually make them without causing a major Stich and Botch.  But those look doable...now, if I could only afford to by a ton of Rowan yarn, I'd be doing great!

Yeah, Rowan is quite pricey, isn't it. I'm not sure what your prices are like, but I paid about $22/skein (canadian) for the Polar I used. I know, I'm nuts. If you do want to use Polar for this project, it only takes two skeins for the smallest size (the pattern says 3, for the yarn called for). Cheesy The book has several patterns that are at about this level of difficulty. I really recommend it, and I'm thinking of getting the vintage one that looks pretty good.
Take care everyone Smiley

Wow, I'm always amazed at what prices you are willing to spend! My most expensive yarn was around 8 (13 canadian $).

that is really great, i love the color and it really looks professional. and my compliments to the person who took the photo.

if i may suggest something, instead of inseting a draw string, why don't you thread some elastic thread into the top. just my two cents!

I wonder if it would be too compulsive to do "duplicate stitch" with the elastic on the inside.  Seems to me that the big Vogue Knitting Book may have something to say on this subject, but I'm not home right now, and can't check.

Bet you'll wash all your swatches from now on, huh?

Wow, Tere, that is SO RAD! You look hot!

I'm glad you liked working with the Polar. It didn't stretch out too much, did it?

Nicely done!

That is SO pretty - I loved that top when I first saw it in the magazine, but I was put off cos I hate wearing strapless bras!
