Ok, so I made this for my brother-in-law.  He's totally a kid at heart and is waaay into video games (of all eras).  So, here's my perspective.

Typical damsel in distress on old school video game:

Oh, but wait!!  Link's tired of her helpless attitude.  He's thinking "Aw, hellllll naw!!!  I've been going through all KINDS of stuff trying to rescue you!!!  I've been trying to talk to old ladies and find boomerangs and recorders and locate hidden entrances and get all the pieces of the Triforce and and and............ Ughhhhhhh!!!  You could help, you know!!!"

So, Link sets Zelda straight:

Aaaand the whole shirt:

I don't know why I even thought of this, but once I did, the idea struck me as hilarious.  Anyhoo, the technical side of things.  I could not find even ONE good image of old school Link or Zelda so I made these dudes in Paint, one square at a time.  I then used some of the auto shapes in Paint to make the speech bubbles and pixelated the speech bubble border one square at a time also.  Very time consuming, but not super hard.  If anyone wants the stencil, I'll be happy to oblige.  I used the usual-freezer paper and acrylic w/textile medium.  Thanks for looking!!!

ROTFL!!!

*catches breath*

I know!  I just want to hand Zelda a sword and a spell book and tell her to start slaying!!!

BTW, I just flashed on some really bad scenarios.  I hope your brother-in-law exercises descretion on where he wears that shirt.  For some reason, I imagined him wearing it to pick up wee ones from an elementary school or to Build-a-Bear.  Shocked  Don't know why...

Here's the stencil.  You just have to rearrange them when you cut it out.
