So my friend is having a baby and the theme of her nursery is Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit.  So, I got it in my head that I was going to knit a Peter Rabbit... annnnd I've never knitted anything more exciting that mittens, hats, and scarves so it was an adventure.  The beginning of the adventure involved finding that it was impossible to find a pattern for a Peter Rabbit as I imagined he should be from the books.  There were patterns available on Ebay from Great Britain but for some reason living in the US and having not that much time I didn't think that would work out for me.  So, I made up a "pattern."  It's knitted mostly in Lion Brand Lion Suede yarn so it's nice and soft and the sweater part is something that I can't remember at the moment but I picked up because of the color and weight of it.  It's bulky weight yarn but I knit it all on size 6 needles which was a chore for yarn thats supposed to be knit with larger needles but I didn't want his stuffing coming out! Anyway, enough with my rambling on, here's the results:

He is very sweet and absolutely recognizable immediately as Peter Rabbit. Very nice job - outstanding as the first non-mitten-scarf-hat project.

Wow that turned out great!  I'm so totally impressed by people who can knit at all, let alone figure out their own pattern for something!  Great job!
