I'm not normally one for nautical clothing or nautical anything for that matter, but for some reason this Anthropologie skirt spoke to me.
1=&color=prw" target="_blank">http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&_dynSessConf=3251096640174079506&id=72803&parentid=APP_SKIRTS_PATTERNED&pushId=APP_SKIRTS_PATTERNED&popId=APP_SKIRTS&sortProperties=&navCount=5&navAction=poppush&fromCategoryPage=true&selectedProductSize=&selectedProductSize 1=&color=prw
But I'm not paying $118 to indulge a whim.
I didn't want to copy it exactly, but rather take strong inspiration from it. This is what I came up with. Please comment! This is my first "knock off" project. It came in under $30 including fabrics, pattern and trims.

I did all the embroidery by hand as well.

WOW!!!  Super cute skirt, I love the detail with the embroidery on it and I looked up the original and I couldn't tell much of a difference.  You did an awesome job!

If all our life is but a dream, fantastic posing greed
Then we should feed our jewelry to the sea
For diamonds do appear to be
Just like broken glass to me.
