A friend gave me a pair of blue plastic toy maracas for Christmas as a gift because he is very musical, and I try and fail, at many different instruments. I would like to keep them as maracas, but I want to find something to do with them other than have them rolling around on my desk. Any ideas?

Okay this maybe be stupid, the mention of a desk gave me the idea,  but depending on how they are made what if you drilled a tiny hole in the handle, stuffed the ink part of a pen in there, and turned it into a pen?The handle would have to not be solid, but also not really part of the shaker either. Make sense?

It would be kinda like when you take a feather and stuff the ink barrel of a cheap pen in it to make a kiddie plume.

Yeah it's a stupid idea, oh well.
