Sorry for the awful pictures, I got my mate Mike to take them and I don't think he knows how to work my camera.

Anyway, I always liked the bottom details of Lolita dresses, so I took it a little further and made reverse-applique show-through curtains on the bottom of this dress. I didn't know it would actually turn out like I had sketched, but it did, so hooray. Made of a nice sturdy burgundy corduroy  and fully lined with gathered sleeve straps and partial princess seams. The off-white underdress is attached. I may add a swag-like belt to it eventually.

whoops, the skirt rode up and you can see my petti!

I was thinking on the same level! Something like little puppets!

It is a very cute dress though! The shape of it is very flattering.

I adore your work!  Grin That is so cute. And I echo what the first commenter said, I love the idea of having a scene or two in the windows.... there's so many possibilities with that dress, now I want to make one with removable scene panels so I can change it according to my mood.  Cheesy

This is adorable! I love it when people create really inventive things within the strict lolita outlines.

ooh, wouldn't it be wonderful to screen print subtle scenes behind the curtains on the off white underskirt, a la angelic pretty?

I've come back and looked at this dress maybe 6 times today.  Partly to admire, partly to plot on how to steal the idea/design.  Just kidding.  Some thing should remain OOAK. It is soooo cute and clever!  But most of your things are, so go figure.

Beautiful, as usual. I love Lolita dresses too, but being a size 18 doesn't allow for wearing too much fru fru!

i read on an other tread you study theatre decoration (or sthg like that), and as your work usually is amazing (and i feel solidarity as i am working at a theatre myself), i immediatly had to see what you created this time. and without reading much of the description a was like "how cool! a proscenium frame dress!" and could not but imagine putting photos of favorite theatre productions i worked on behind the "curtains" (instead of a white underskirt). lovely, really. and as always tres inspiring.
