I made a blanket!

I knitted a blanket for BatGirl. The truth is I made one stripe as a scarf and it was way too long and wide even for a very cold winter so I turned it into a blanket.

To give you some perspective this is a queen sized bed.

I also made her a nice warm scarf made out of this cool hand spun and dyed yarn:


The blanket is my first non-scarf project. I am so excited to have finished it! I'm a compulsive non-finisher.

I love this yarn so much, I bought every skein the yarn shop had, my friend made herself a scarf and I made myself a scarf too!

Aw shucks. 

My pups LOVED the blanket! It was so hard for me to keep them off of it while I was working on it. I would be in the knitting zone and look down and there would be a pup all snuggled up in it! UGH I had to start keeping it in a bag while I was working on it to keep them off of it.

I knitted a Lizard Ridge last year and I couldnt keep my cats off of it. They really like to suck on and cuddle the Noro. Anyway, Im not saying this to be mean, I just wanted to give you some honest feedback. Next time you make a blanket be a little more careful with your seaming. In the close up you could see a bit of the orange thread where you sewed the seams together. For my first blanket I went to my LYS and had them help me with my seams. It took a little practice, but eventually I got them where they were pretty much invisible. Ok, I totally said my comment with love I promise! So please dont be offended.

Oh I'm not offended. I know my seams could stand some improvement. I'm working on it.

Try your local yarn store. Honestly the ladies there helped me with my seams more so than peeps at my SnB or books. The lady who showed me has been knitting for 40+ years so she really knew some good tricks to making seams look nice and neat.
