I'm so glad you really like it!

The Cabana Boy was sheer serendipity. I'm in Walmart with my mom & 3 year old looking for other things & inadvertantly turn down the Barbie aisle, oh dear, Barbie aisle with the daughter-who-loves-all-form-of-Barbie-&-dressing-Barbies.... so we "just look". I'm telling mom all about the running joke of the Cabana Boys & such, daughter grabs a box off the shelf & the poorly stacked stuff all come tumbling down, including Surfs Up! Ken- I knew right then I had to do the Cabana Boy Smiley And he was pretty cheap too. My hubby said I should have got the dark skinned one & named him Sancho, but the purchase had been made. Hubby helped me come up with the name, we also contemplated Biff, Tad, Brad and Chip.

Oh, I posted it in Clothing Completed Projects too Smiley

Dulcinea, what a GREAT ending to a horrid week.

The skirt is amazing! So many pieces! I did a child's version of a skirt like that, no where nearly as complicated. I sat running my serger at full speed for 2 days! My serger gathers as it sews, and I was running yards of one piece strips. I'm telling you that this is 10x more work, and I'm trying to imagine piecing the amount of squares and then sewing and gathering them. AMAZING!!!

And the cabana boy and chocolate, was a wonderful extra!

You totally scored!

Well, apologies to Batgirl - there is no way anything I can do will ever measure up to that skirt!  I was just commenting on another adult gathered twirly skirt at http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=226380.0.  The thing that really amazes me (and did about the other one as well) is how beautifully you've organized the colors.  For me, this is the scariest part of undertaking one of these

I bow to your efforts.

(And sewknitter, that is NOT great news.  I've been thinking the only hard part would be mixing those skeleton/day of the dead fabrics.  I've been deluding myself that using my serger/ruffling function would the rest of it easy Wink)

It's not that I don't want to swap, it's that I often don't have time.  But feel free to ask (especially if it's one that's not too time consuming).

What a great package! and how could you not smile seeing chocolate, a cabana boy and a twirly skirt!

I am finished my crafting and will be packaging everything up. It won't be in the mail until Tuesday at the earliest, that will be my next day at work and I prefer the PO by work way better than the one I live by   Roll Eyes

I agree, the one closest to me is always too crowded and for whatever reason it seems every time I go in there's a family of 6 getting passports.... I like the one down by my gym better.

My package is done, except for the fancy packaging.  It will go out on Thursday probably.

This is my favorite part -- all knitting, no purls --

Dulcinea & HSG -- should I give a hint pic?

piping down, getting back to knitting -- watching movie -- "you've got mail" and now for the soupy knit conclusion, lol. (Yep I'm a chic flic crier.)
