Here are two more pictures...the first one is before I put the 'sky' paper under the velum...

and the second one you can see the hidden heart I mention in the first post. (near Rick toward the bottom of the leaves).  I didn't have a closer pic of the overall piece, so I zoomed in. I hope these are what you wanted to see!This is my favorite I've done, I'm getting ready to do another for a friend, and then I will do one for myself one day!!!

Wow, wow, wow!  The only projects I've done so far are greeting cards (obviously much smaller!).  This is sooo amazing!

HSG-thank you for the very kind words.  It does take some amount of time, but it isn't hard at all.  Believe it or not, this one one of the first things I quilled after a bunch of practicing how to roll the paper.  Like anything quilling can get to be complicated, but just the very basic rolling techniques were used in this, nothing fancy.  Again thanks for the nice remarks, it brightens my day

This is so beautiful!  I gave it a 'this rocks'.    It looks amazing, but it looks so time consuming!  I'm also curious how long it took to make this.

A couple people have asked how long this took.  I didn't keep track.  Rolling the paper takes the longest, I would say I spent a couple of hours each night for about a week rolling...then probably about 2 hours gluing it down?  I really don't know.  If I had to guess I would say about 15 hours once I knew my design.

you know, i really love the art of quilling. i don't know how to do it, but i see it on carol duvall's show and i think it looks like fun. this project is really lovely! it's a great creative way to do a family tree!
