Are stamps carved with just a knife? Or a scooper, like ones used in clay?

It's a mix, I use both an exacto and some sharp curved blades for carving Lino material that scoop.

Some people use exactos, but you can buy whole carving sets.

I'm really impressed with the stamps-whether they are figurative or abstract. I'm sitting here studying my bunny stamp just to see how it was carved so well. It beats a lot of stamps I've gotten at stores, for sure Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

I'm loving all these stamps posted!  Before I could take pics of the absolutely fabulous one I received from MunLtStmpr, The Hub decided it was time to remodel my craft room.  Shocked  As SOON as I can get to it, I'll post pics.

Balkandina, I'm so glad you like it.

I've been rather nervous in this swap trying to get just the right thing for my partners 'cause what would be more useless than a stamp you didn't like?  Although, I guess one could trade it for something they liked better.

Let me just put out into the ether for everyone, not just this swap: if anyone doesn't like something I've sent them, go ahead and trade it off for something you do like.  You don't need to tell me and I won't get my feelings too hurt even if I do know about it.

I can't wait to see the upcoming stamps in this gallery.  Everyone has such different styles and different carving methods that I don't think we'd make the same stamp if we were each given the same image.  Like Balkandina, I was examining the stamp I've received looking for how MunLtStmpr got such details in the softness and how she cleared material away.

I would like to wait a few days before updating profile infos for those of you who have completed the swap unless it is necessary for you to go on to another swap if that's okay? It's just a little simpler for me and I don't screw it up as easily if I have a few to do at a time  Undecided And it saves Sweets4ever and the swap mods from having to fix up my computer mistakes Roll Eyes
Just a gentle reminder-mailouts are in 2 days-please pm me and your partner if you think you might be late. It doesn't effect your positive feedback as long as I'm kept up to date, okey dokey??
