That looks AMAZING, IceDragon! It will be well worth your time and effort!
I must admit, I'm very impressed so far. I'd never stitched on evenweave, done beading or petitpoint, nor used metallic threads, but I've done all of them on her. It looks so much better in real life though, especially where I've put blending filament in with her wings.
It's my "inbetweenee" project - I dig her out when I've finished something for a couple of weeks, then start on something else.

HSG, Your Challah cover looks stunning!! I love how you moved the pearls. They do look better there (even though I liked the "dew" effect also.) I was wondering if you got it done for last Friday dinner? It's beautiful!
slksnell and IceDragon....all I can say is WOW.

Glad you like the changes Jinjeet Phoenix, but no I did not get it done in time. It will be finished this week though.

HSG, hope you can post a picture of the finished Challah cover. I was wondering if you added anything else to it. I was thinking that you could maybe just cover a loaf of bread and see what it looks like and then decide if you wanted to add on.

That looks amazing. I really love how you chose to do it in grayscale. Adds a different mood to the piece

thank you
the pattern was actually grey scale.
i do like it that way though
although at points when it doesn't look like anything but a big blur of grey it's frustrating lol

I thought that way about the angel I'm doing, it didn't look anything like it was supposed to and I asked a very good friend of mine to look it over and give me her honest opinion, and she gave me a rather startling insight.
She said it was designed that way so you could get the full impact from across the room instead of close-up.
Maybe that picture is designed to be the same - stand away from it and it will look a whole lot better. You may have to move five or six feet away, you may have to go the whole length of the room away, but the impact is amazing, makes them look like paintings.
Just a thought.

oh for sure!
yeah you definitly have to stand far away. i work as a framer and have framed quite a few that were like this one. with no backstitching just more shading. and yes you do have to stand farther away, it's just frustrating when you are working on it so close up haha
